Open Burn Pit Respiratory Complications Increase COVID-19 Risk
The Veterans Administration reports that respiratory issues stemming from open burn pit exposure may increase vulnerability to COVID-19.
Exposure to burn pits has been associated with respiratory conditions such as asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD).
Veterans exposed to open burn pits during an overseas deployment should join the Airborn Hazards and Open Burn Pits Registry. Steps for joining the registry are located at the following URL: Steps for Completing the Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry.
Please share this with the veterans in your network.
